Every Nikken Sleep System  mattress or pad is a multi-layered structure - with layers of varying densities to provide optimum support and promote ideal spinal alignment. A firm foundation helps cushion shock, and magnets are placed in the Central Support Zone. The Kenko Dream Delux Mattress and the Intelli-Rest Pad include a layer of high-tech viscoelastic foam - the space-age material developed by scientists in conjunction with NASA - that provides custom-fit support. The Nikken Sleep System is especially engineered for ventilation, with foam materials and breathable fabric covering. The thicker, Kenko Dream Delux Matress adds built-in special air channels. They are also in Kenko Dream Pillow. These features allow free air flow. Directly underneath the cover   

of the mattress and the pillow is a layter of Nikken Rubberthane. Only Nikken Rubberthane has specially treated, dual-density    nodules, for a passive massaging effect. A night's sleep on Rubberthane is like waking up from a soothing massage.
 

FAR-INFRARED TECHNOLOGY
Nikken employs Far-Infrared technology in support wraps, clothing and comforters which contain ceramic-reflective fibers that react to your own body temperature. When you are cold, your body expends energy to warm itself. Far-infrared ceramic-reflective fibers absorb this energy, but unlike other materials it is not merely dissipated. The energy is transformed into warmth and reflected back to you.

Actual thermographic photography shows the way that Far-Infrared Technology helps to control temperature. Compare the two photographs below that show registered body heat in different colors. The first image shows a person wearing an ordinary cotton material. In the second, the material contains far-infrared reflective fibers. Notice the difference in temperature, as indicated by the color change. Some areas of your body warm up faster than others. The ceramic-reflective fibers near these areas will reach a limit in the amount of energy they absorb, and the excess heat will pass through the material and escape. This breathability feature permits you to stay comfortable. All conventional clothing and bedding uses the same basic method to preserve warmth.
 

  They retain heat by trapping it against the body and delaying its escape - which works moderately well within a narrow temperature range. When the environment is colder, the heat loss increases, and your covering can't keep you warm enough.
