Greenlip mussel farming
and processing in the Marlborough Sounds region is strictly
monitored by New Zealand's Ministry of Agriculture ("MAP") to ensure
the mussels conform to the highest quality standards. The mussel
farms are monitored daily by an independent authority (MSQP) to
ensure that mussels are grown naturally in clean unpolluted waters.
MOXXOR visionaries and co-founders were among a handful of pioneers
in the mussel farming industry at it's infancy over 3 decades ago
and today have built significant holdings in marine farm ownership.
Once the greenlip mussels are harvested they are rushed to the plant
and processed immediately to protect their valuable polyunsaturated
fatty acids. The processing plants conform to the highest quality
control standards in the world which are strictly regulated and
enforced by the New Zealand Ministry of Agriculture on behalf of the
United States' FDA and European authorities. After stabilizing [to
minimize the oxidation of the polyunsaturated fatty acids] the
greenlip mussels are converted into powder form using proprietary
processes, and the omega-3 PUFA's (bio-available polar and non-polar
lipids) are then removed. MOXXOR controls and manages this
combination of proprietary processes from ocean to final product
delivery.

ARTHRITIS
- greenlip mussel (Perna canaliculus) is a New Zealand shellfish,
from which an extract has been shown to be useful in the treatment
of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and Osteoarthritis (OA).

(New Zealand greenlip mussel) has been shown to modify spontaneous
and oxytocin-induced contractions of the uterus.

OTHER AILMENTS
- greenlip mussel inhibits inflammation in the body. Although
inflammation is normal under certain conditions, consistent or
excessive inflammation can result in pain and damage to the body,
including the joints. The human body makes several chemical
mediators of inflammation. Levels of these chemicals in the body may
be higher in people with RA who are experiencing symptoms than in
symptom-free people with arthritis. Evidence indicates that
controlling the production of inflammatory mediators in the body may
help improve conditions such as arthritis, asthma, psoriasis, and
inflammatory bowel disease (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's
disease), all of which involve elements of inflammation.
